COPING UP WITH GOV. JAMES

Missing our schedule by close to an hour, AG Oca and I left Zamboanga last August 25 accompanying Gov. James to his club visits with Dipolog for our first stop.

Breezing out of the City at past 7 am with no less than Gov. James taking on the wheel, we had to skip our plans for breakfast at Ipil, Sibugay to make up for lost time. Instead we opted to have brunch at Sindangan and partake ON THE VERY FRESH CATCH FOR THE DAY CONSISTING OF SEAFOODS. It was indeed a very hearty meal. Off to Dipolog then, we got in, in time for lunch. After skipping lunch from some refreshing drinks, Gov. James and AG Oca took off to a nearby sitio called Osmeña for the turnover of the Rotary Club of Dipolog water project. After lunch the next day, with RCD Rotarians, we went to neighboring RC Dapitan which gave us a grand welcome with matching band playing music to the delight of Gov. James for an unveiling of a Rotary marker at the boundary of Dipolog and Dapitan. It was led by Pres. Lana and her lovely entourage of lady Rotarians. The presentation of Pres. Lana right then preceded the Joint Governor’s Ball with RCDipolog and host RC Dapitan. We had a grand time and thereafter, joining Pres. Lana in a nightcap at a local barbeque resto before we took off for the hotel.

The third day saw us through with an on-time take off to Jimenez, a good hour and a half drive from Dipolog. After a series of meetings with the members of RC Oroquieta, we ended up in a joint meeting with RC Jimenez that evening.

Saturday saw us leaving Oroquieta at exactly 6 am. Instead of negotiating the route via Ozamis, we opted to take the route via Dipolog. (I think that what was on our thought was the tempting brunch that we did not want to miss at Sindangan.)

Going back to the thought of just being with Gov. James in keeping up with his scheduled visits is indeed grueling enough for us who joined him in this trip. But having said that, I can see that Gov. James is indeed committed in fulfilling his role as such.
