Make Dreams Real Photo Essay Contest
Rules
- The contest is open to Rotarians only.
- Entries should be submitted by email with a resolution of at least 180dpi in jpeg format.
- Subject should be in line with the Rotary International theme Make Dreams Real, focusing on RI President DK Lee's thrust to reduce child mortality through literacy, health and hunger, and water.
- Images may feature children and/or subject matter which illustrate literacy, health and hunger, and water.
- Two entries will be selected each month for the next six months, from August to January inclusive, and published in the GML. All 12 finalists' entries will be included in the photo exhibit during the Discon, and published in the February edition of the GML.
- A panel of judges will select the monthly finalists, and the top three winners will be announced at the Discon.
- Entrants may submit as many images as they like, but no more than one image from any individual will be selected among the 12 finalists.
- Entries submitted for any month which are not selected as one of the two monthly finalists must be resubmitted if they are to be considered for the next month's judging.
- Any photos entered for the competition, whether or not they are selected as finalists, may be published or used by the district for any promotional materials or Rotary fundraising without compensation to the photographer. The name of the Rotarian will be duly credited.
- The deadline for submission of entries is the 1st of each month. All entries should be emailed to photocontestd3850@gmail.com and include the entrant's full name, address, contact details (phone number or email address) and the name of the Rotary Club to which they are affiliated.
- Entries will be judged on the following criteria: a. Overall visual impact (50%) b. Technical achievement, creativity and composition (50%)
- Prizes will be awarded to the top three entries and credited towards their The Rotary Foundation (TRF) contribution as follows: 1st Prize:$ 250 2nd Prize:$ 150 3rd Prize:$ 100
- Certificates will be awarded to all 12 finalists.
- The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
