Leonardo Raphael Tayco, Jr.
District 3850 Governor, RY 2019-2020
Raphy is a passionate Rotarian who was inducted as a member of the Rotary Club of Kalibo twenty-six (26) years ago and became Club President in Rotary Year 2000-2001 during the District Governorship of Past District Governor Henry "Henz" Reyes. He held chairmanships of different club and district committees for many years, including being Assistant Governor twice, in RY 2005-2006 during the term of the late PDG Ricardo "Eric" Lavina, Jr. and RY 2015-2016 during the term of PDG Oliver "Ver" Ong. He is a Paul Harris Fellow +8 and a member of the Paul Harris Society; he is also a Lifetime Subscriber to the Philippine Rotary Magazine.
Awards are not new to him. His club and the district would honour him for all his dedication, notable of which was the Outstanding Club President Award in RY 2000-2001 while his club, the Rotary Club of Kalibo, garnered six (6) major district awards. Through the years, he also garnered three times the Most Outstanding Club Secretary Award in the district. He has been a consistent attendee in various district training seminars, assemblies, conferences and international gatherings like the Rotary Institute and the Rotary International Convention. He has also hosted several Rotary Youth Exchange students and Group Study Exchange members.
His outstanding involvements in professional and civic organizations is also worth mentioning, especially his presidency of the Philippine Academy of Family Physicians, Aklan Chapter, in 1994-1995, where he holds the rank of Fellow, as well as the presidency of the Aklan Medical Society in 1999-2000.
He is happily married to Nikki Rose Ituriaga Tayco, PHF +1; they are blessed with three (3) loving children, all Paul Harris Fellows.
Lennard Ashley, was a Rotary Youth Exchange student to District 5450, Colorado, USA in 2012-2013 where he was awarded as the Outstanding International Student of the Year by the Rotary Club of Centennial, Colorado. He had been President of their Interact Club in high school and Rotaract Club in college. He is an Economics graduate from the University of Santo Tomas and is presently employed in Alphaland Corporation.Nicole Angelique was also President of their Interact Club in high school. She finished with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the University of Santo Tomas and is presently working in Okada Manila.
Marie Dominique, the youngest, was likewise President of their Interact Club in high school. She is presently in second year college taking up B.S. in Travel Management at the University of Santo Tomas.
